I love Jolly Roger, the beer. I really like Jolly Roger, the pub. The pub closes too early and is a little too crowded to make me love it, but on the other hand, it's the one place that has Jolly Roger the beer year round, and they have incredible cask beers and the scallops are amazing.
Right now the pub is pouring Dry Hopped Jolly Roger on nitrogen. Say that over and over until it becomes a mantra. And get your ass to the pub and have a pint. If you're in the growler club, get a bottle of it. .

Sun, January 28, 2007 - 11:23 AMIt IS a great little pub. However, unless something has changed they probably wont have the jolly ale past I think mid march- early april. I think thats when they finally run out of it. I know (or at least I used to know) that they only brewed that beer just for the season and once its gone its gone til the next winter. Things may have changed and they have it year around again, I dont know.
But its the closest brewery to me and I love it. I remember a few years ago being able to go in there on a friday night and being able to get a seat no problem. Now since ballard is gettng to be this hip place for all the hipsters tolive and frequent, its getting a bit more challengeing to get in there and getting a seat.
I'm not sure which of thier beers is my favorite. But I do have to agree the jolly on nitro is quite tasty. -

Tue, March 13, 2007 - 10:28 AMI do love Jolly Roger the beer, but haven't been to the pub. Cooper's Alehouse served Jolly Roger year-round last I was there, although that's been a couple of years. They had a decent beer selection over there. It is on Lake City Way just a block or two after the I-5 Lake City Way exit.
